You may think that X Ambassadors are new to the scene with the popularity of their radio hit “Renegades,” but this alternative rock band has been around for quite some time. Hailing from Ithaca and comprised of four members: Sam Harris on lead vocals, guitar and saxophone; brother Casey Harris on keyboard; Noah Feldshuh on guitar and Adam Levin on drums, X Ambassadors hit the music scene in 2009, with a self-released debut EP, Ambassadors. In 2013, the band debuted their major label EP, Love Songs Drug Songs and most recently, released VHS, their debut LP.

Much to the delight of fans X Ambassadors came around as the opener for Muse on the Drones World Tour, including a stop back home in Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center. Their set list featured eight songs including, “Loveless,” “Hang On,” “Fear,” “Jungle” and the popular hit “Renegades.” Each song is packed with deep emotion, drawing from the band’s personal experiences with heartache, tragedy and triumph.

The audience also got treated to the band’s hot new alternative track, “Unsteady,” featuring frontman vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Sam Harris showing off his vocal range, sax skills and dance moves.

A circular stage set up stationed each of the four members across and away from each other throughout the performance, which seemed secular, but no means less entertaining.

Fortunately, The Barclays has an amazing sound system, and every instrument is heard crisp and clear. No one instrument overpowers another or drowns out the singer, who sang each song with gut-wrenching passion.

X Ambassadors are currently touring Europe on The VHS Tour. Visit www.xambassadors.com for more about the band, their tour and new music.
