National Walking Day on April 4 is just around the corner and UnitedHealthcare is encouraging Americans to get up, walk more and make a commitment to better health through the Step Up for Better Health Pledge.
UnitedHealthcare has created an online resource (www.uhcwalkingmaps.com) with information about the health benefits of walking, suggested 10,000-step walking routes in more than 50 major cities, and a tool that allows you to map out your own 10,000 step walk.
Use the step counter tool to determine how many steps your desired route will be.
UnitedHealthcare will donate $1 on behalf of each of the first 25,000 people to sign the Step Up for Better Health Pledge to Boys & Girls Clubs to help reduce childhood obesity. Participants will also be automatically entered to win fitness-related prizes such as an Apple Watch or a Foot Locker gift card.
