Laffey Real Estate announced the 2017 date for the annual fundraiser to benefit EasterSealsNY and the Viscardi Center, two organizations that work tirelessly to improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities. Planning is underway for the largest of the annual fundraisers. The date is set for Thursday, April 20, at Dave and Buster’s Westbury location.

The fundraiser is open to the families and businesses of the communities the firm has served for more than four decades.

Started in 2004 by principal Philip Laffey, the firm has raised more than $150,000 directly benefiting EasterSealsNY. These seasonal events have been outstanding successes, each with its own record-breaking results. The fundraisers include Big Change for a Change, The Bowl-a-Thon, Jones Beach Walk, Coat & Canned Food Drive and the Easter Sealed with a Gift Holiday Toy Drive. In total, these efforts have raised cash proceeds in addition to more than 5,000 toys, 4,000 winter outerwear items and a ton of canned or non-perishable food items combined. Every cent or item collected directly benefits the children and families of the school.

The firm is offering local business owners and individuals the opportunity to participate in the fundraising event. There are corporate and lane sponsorships still available. In addition, donations

of themed baskets, gift cards and other items are also appreciated. In prior years, prizes included Mets, Ducks, Yankees and Islanders tickets, dining gift certificates, electronics, baskets of cheer, gift baskets, spa certificates and more. All of the proceeds collected from the donated raffles go directly to the two organizations which help to underwrite the cost of special equipment, tools, assistive technology, computers/software and supplies utilized by the children and adults they serve.

To make a donation or for more information call Cathy Poturny at 516-626-1500, ext. 390.
