The Electronic Entertainment Expo, known as E3, had another solid year of conferences. While Sony decided to sit out of the festivities this year, there were still plenty of new games announced and even more details thrown out about the games we have anticipated. In this transition year for some of the biggest companies in the industry, let’s look at some of the best games talked about at this year’s conference.

Borderlands 3

In the third installment for the successful action-roleplay game by Gearbox Studios, players will be recruited by Lilith, a playable character in the first game, to stop evil twins Troy and Tyreen Calypso as they form a cult and try to capture vaults beyond their planet, Pandora. You can play alone or up to four people and create a character from one of four classes available: beastmaker, gunner, operative and siren.

The game releases on Sept. 13 on Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.

Pokémon Sword And Shield

The next upcoming game by Game Freak is set in the Galar region, based heavily on Great Britain, and will take you on a journey to becoming a Pokémon master. New features in the game include a cooperative mode that lets you battle Pokémon with a friend and a new element of battle, “Dynamaxing,” which grows your Pokémon to an unbelievable size for inflicting extra damage.

The game will be available on Nov. 15 on the Nintendo Switch.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

From the developers at Respawn Entertainment comes a single-player, action-adventure game based in the iconic Star Wars universe. You play as Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis, who has escaped clone Order 66 and is now on the run from the Galactic Empire. Explore vasts worlds as you fight the empire with every tool at your disposal.

The adventure will begin on Nov. 15 on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Doom Eternal

The iconic Doom franchise by Bethesda is back with yet another installment in the gruesome first-person shooter. Players will yet again assume the role of the Doom Slayer, a warrior who battles the demonic forces of Hell, and use a large arsenal of firearms to take down the evil creatures in front of them.

You can destroy these demons on Nov. 22 on the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

In the remake of the 1997 Square Enix classic, you play as Cloud Strife, a former soldier who joins the AVALANCHE eco-terrorist group to fight against the Shinra corporation, who have been draining the life out of the planet. The game is completely rebuilt and features a real-time battle system unlike in past versions of the game.

The first part of the game will arrive on Playstation 4 on March 3, 2020.

Watch Dogs: Legion

In the third game of the action-adventure series, Ubisoft brings you to post-Brexit London as an authoritarian regime has taken over the country, but DedSec, a rebellious hacker group is looking to take down those in charge. You can play as many different characters, each one with different skills that make them unique, as you play on foot or use vehicles to explore the city and fight back.

Join the resistance on March 6, 2020, on Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.

Animal Crossing New Horizons

The upcoming life simulation game is the fifth in the lovable Nintendo series. In this new world, you will help build a town from scratch on a deserted island with the help of series-staple Tom Nook. You can collect materials, craft items and build the world you want to live in, while also hanging out with your friends on the island.

Start your new life on March 20, 2020, on the Nintendo Switch.

Cyberpunk 2077

The CD Projekt role-playing game announced last year has a release date, as well as a lot more information. You will play as V, a completely customizable mercenary who lives in dystopian Night City, a region controlled by corporations and filled with crime. You will fight against robots and gangs while leveling up V to get stat upgrades.

The massive game will come out on April 16, 2020, on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Marvel’s Avengers

Separate from the blockbuster films, this game takes place five years after superheroes were outlawed following an incident that the world blamed the Avengers for. But with the world in trouble, the heroes must reassemble. The game lets you play as Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Black Widow or Thor.

The superhero experience will come out on May 13, 2020 on Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.
