What originally began as a love story in France in 1876, when Louis Alexandre Marnier married Julia LaPostolle, the liquor has stood the test of time After all, the Marnier family were wine merchants who distributed LaPostolle’s high-quality fruit liqueurs in the Sancerre region of France, perfectly blending the love of orange liqueur and knowledge of cognac with the love of each other. Thus, a union was created that would become the renowned house of Grand Marnier-Lapostolle.

1.5 oz of Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge
0.75 oz of fresh lemon juice
1 bar spoon of simple syrup
2 oz of dry French Champagne
Orange twist for garnish

  1. Combine Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge, simple syrup, and fresh lemon juice in a shaker tin. Add ice and shake.
  2. Fine strain into a chilled flute or coupe glass. Top with dry French champagne and garnish with an orange twirl

Grand Sidecar

1.5 oz of Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge
0.75 oz of Cognac
0.75 oz of fresh lemon juice
Orange twist for garnish 

  1. Combine ingredients in a shaker tin. Add ice and shake.
  2. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass without sugar. Garnish with an orange twist.

2 oz of Grand Marnier Louis-Alexandre
0.75 oz of Cinzano 1757 Extra Dry Vermouth
Dash of orange bitters
Lemon twist for garnish

  1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir until cold.
