American Legion Auxiliary Color Guard at Long Island National Cemetery

All gave some, and some gave all.

That is why on the Sunday preceding Veterans’ Day, the American Legion Auxiliary comes together and joins with the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, American Legion Riders, Vietnam War Veterans Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Jewish War Veterans, Gold Star Mothers (those who lost a son/daughter in battle) and Blue Star Mothers (those who have a son/daughter currently in the military) for a meaningful ceremony

The ceremony will take place from 10 a.m. to approximately 12 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 10, at Nassau County Veterans Memorial, Field 6A (also known as Veterans Plaza) at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, rain or shine, to pay tribute to the heroes of Nassau County, living and deceased.

This event will be followed on the same afternoon by a veterans ceremony which takes place at Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, NY 11735, rain or shine, under a tent.

The public are encouraged to attend these fitting expressions of gratitude. This date also marks the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the American Legion Auxiliary.
