Town Honors Firefighter, Veteran As Fire-Police Association President

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino along with his colleagues on the Town Board recently honored William Gruener, a longtime member of the North Massapequa Fire Department’s Ladder Company #1 and newly installed President of the Nassau County Fire Police Association.

“Bill has more than sixty years in the volunteer fire service and has always been extremely dedicated to his department and the community,” said Saladino. “I know he will bring that same level of commitment as President of the Nassau County Fire Police Association.”

Gruener, of North Massapequa, is also a proud Korean War Veteran, having served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 and is a member of the New York State Chaplain’s Association.
