West Hempstead Bank Robbed

Police are investigating a bank robber that occurred on May 5 in West Hempstead.

At 1:38 p.m., a man described as black, in his 30s, with a medium-stocky build, about 5’10” to 6′ tall, wearing a Rastafarian-style hat, wig, and eyeglasses, entered the Chase Bank located at 565 Hempstead Turnpike and presented a demand note to a teller, according to police.

The man fled with an unknown amount of cash eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike.

There were nine employees and 11 customers present during the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.
