Wantagh Schools Evacuated After Threat

Nassau County police are investigating a threat found on the bathroom wall at Wantagh High School on May 1.

Police say at 9:26 a.m., the principal of Wantagh High School was notified by students of a specific threat written in a men’s bathroom on the first floor.

At 10 a.m. both the high school and middle were evacuated while a thorough search was conducted. At 1:15 p.m. the search was completed and the school was reopened and students re-entered. The investigation is ongoing.
