Valley Stream Native Serves Aboard U.S.S. Harry S. Truman

Aviation Structural Mechanic 3rd Class Shaniel Roopnarine, from Valley Stream, assigned to the “Blue Blasters” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 34, removes a connecting link from an F/A-18E Super Hornet wing in the hangar bay of U.S.S. Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) on July 9, while working in the Ionian Sea.

The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. Sixth Fleet to defend U.S., allied and partner interests.
