Two seventeen year-olds were arrested by police on June 13, at 2:16 p.m.,
for allegedly stealing a wallet left in a car in Cedarhurst.

According to police, the victim, owner of a vehicle parked on Oceanpoint Avenue, watched as Andre Palmer, 17, of 14 Roger Avenue, Inwood and Raytawon Wright, 17, of 307 Madison Avenue, Cedarhurst, entered the victim’s vehicle, removed a wallet, and rode off on their bicycles after noticing the victim was watching them. The car’s owner called 911 and the incident was broadcast.

A police officer observed the suspects on Park Avenue/Linwood Avenue, and ordered them to stop. Wright stopped, but Palmer rode his bicycle around the police car and continued west on Park Avenue. Palmer was ordered to stop multiple times, but failed to comply. The officer put out a radio notification to alert units in the area and Palmer was located on Pearsall Avenue. Recovered from the suspects were the victim’s wallet, NYS driver license, and cash.

The two suspects were charged with 4th degree grand larceny and were arraigned on June 14, at First District Court in Hempstead.
