Two Arrested After Shots Fired In Seaford

Two men were arrested on May 10 in Seaford after police received a notification for shots fired in the vicinity of Island Channel Road at 12:30 a.m.

Police say they also received a description of Black Jeep fleeing the area at the time. Responding officers located the Jeep traveling eastbound on Merrick Road from Neptune Avenue. The officers conducted a vehicle and traffic stop and observed a black shotgun on the rear seat of the car.

Shotgun shells were also allegedly found on the floor of the front passenger side of the vehicle. The investigation determined that the driver Nicholas M. Richtman, 21, of Copiague and passenger William R. Raynor, 17, of Lindenhurst were in a field area of Cedar Creek Park when they fired two shots from the shot gun. Both defendants were placed under arrest without incident. There are no injuries or damage reported at this time.

Both defendants are charged with Prohibited Use of a Weapon and Trespass. They were issued an appearance ticket to appear on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at First District Court.
