Robbery Squad is investigating robberies that occurred in Hempstead, Freeport and Baldwin between 12:55 a.m. and 3:10 a.m. on June 25.
According to detectives, at 12:55 a.m., three black male subjects approached two20-year-old male victims walking near the corner of Greengrove Avenue and Hempstead Boulevard, Hempstead. The subjects allegedly displayed a shotgun, ordered the victims to the ground and demanded they empty their pockets. The victims complied and the three subjects fled of foot east on Hempstead Boulevard, with proceeds including a wallet, cell phone, credit cards, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
At 1:50 a.m., three black male subjects approached a 24-year-old male victim standing next to his parked vehicle on Newton Avenue in Baldwin. Allegedly, these three subjects displayed a shot gun and ordered the male victim and two 23-year-old female victims sitting in the vehicle to empty their pockets. After the subject obtained wallets, cell phones, and cash, they fled south on foot on Brookwood Drive.
At 3:10 a.m., three black male subjects approached a taxi driver who was sitting in his cab on Mount Avenue, Freeport. They displayed a shotgun and demanded money. After the victim complied with their order, they fled in a grey auto south on Mount Avenue with the victim’s car keys, cell phone and cash.
Subject one is described as in his twenties, 6’0”tall, dark-skinned, and armed with a shotgun. Subject two is in his twenties, with a slim build, he wore a blue/white tee shirt. Subject three is described as in his twenties and dark-skinned. There were no injuries reported in any of the incidents.
