People of all ages came to Jones Beach on May 6 to walk for mental health at the 2017 NAMIWalks Long Island/Queens. The anti-stigma message was loud and clear along with praise and support for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). NAMIWalks has raised $230,672.00. Funds raised contribute to local NAMI programs and services. NAMI Queens/Nassau, lead NAMIWalks affiliate, is a nonprofit, grassroots organization committed to building better lives and ensuring dignity and respect for those affected by mental illness through support, education and advocacy.
