The winter ballet classic, The Nutcracker, will be performed at local venues.

A full length production of the ballet will be performed at Molloy College’s Madison Theatre on Friday, Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday Dec. 20 at 5 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 21 at 4 p.m.

The performances feature a live 70 piece orchestra and dancers from Boston Ballet, Washington Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Houston Ballet and Ballet Xt. Over 75 young dancers from the greater metropolitan area and Sarah Hunt from the television show Dance Moms will also participate in the performances.

Lumiere Ballet will perform at SUNY Old Westbury’s Maguire Theater on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m.
The performances feature original Tchaikovsky, Petipa, Ivanov creation which was performed in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1892.
Admission is $30 and $25 for seniors and children. To purchase tickets, call 631-586-2921.

Eglevsky Ballet will perform at LIU Post’s Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, 720 Northern Blvd., Greenvale, on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 21 at noon and 4 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m.

This annual production is choreographed by Laszlo Berdo. It features 24 professional dancers, guest artists from a major company, 20 pounds of snow, a 50-foot Christmas tree, and 60 students from the Eglevsky Ballet Training Program.
