Surf’s up, New York! NY Surf Week starts July 11, in Long Beach, New York and promises to bring a week of fun in the sun and sand to the city by the sea. Surf Week, sponsored by NYSEA, runs through Sunday, July 15, and each day features unique events that celebrate surfing and surf culture.

The surf competition runs the entire week, depending on weather and waves, and registration for the competition can be found online at nysea.com.

Founder of New York Surf Week and professional big wave surfer Will Skudin announced recently that the 9th annual festivities will be the biggest and best yet.

The annual paddle out—which honors the memory of Long Beach Surfer George “Geeza” Geiser—has always helped shine a spotlight on New York’s emerging surf scene, and this year, the eagerly anticipated movie premiere of Kissed By God at the Long Beach Cinema is an exciting night scheduled in the events for the week!

“Attendees will enjoy an expanded itinerary of surf and skate contests, new Hurley Surf Club activities, nonprofit surf outings, film premiers, kids activities, raffles and games, a boardwalk vending village and two NYSEA summer parties for people of all ages,” Will Skudin said.
