Sundays at the Seminary Series Focuses on Mary

The Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington is hosting a lecture series titled “Mary: The Bible and the Mother of God.” Sponsored by the Friends of the Seminary.

It will consist of the viewing and discussion of Dr. Brant Pitre’s DVD series and discussion of two topics from 2 to 4 p.m. the following Sundays:

Oct. 3: The New Eve • The New Ark

Oct. 17: Mother of the Messiah • The Queen Mother

Oct. 24: The Perpetual Virgin • Mother of Sorrows

Nov. 7: The New Rachel • Discussion

Dr. Brant Pitre is Distinguished Research Professor of Scripture at The Augustine Institute, received his Ph.D. in New Testament and ancient Judaism from the University of Notre Dame. He is the author of Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary, Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist, Jesus the Bridegroom: The Greatest Love Story Ever Told, Jesus and the Last Supper, The Case for Jesus, and co-author with John Bergsma of A Catholic Introduction to the Bible: The Old Testament.

Additionally, he is the author of several CD and DVD Bible Studies, exploring the Jewish roots of Scripture and the Catholic Faith. Mary–The Bible and the Mother of God is one of his more popular DVD series. Free will offering appreciated
