…The SUNY College at Old Westbury baseball team earned regional honors when the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and the ECAC announced junior left fielder Nick Yip (Elmhurst) earned NCBWA Honorable Mention Hitter and ECAC Metro Region Player of the Week while junior right-hander Tim Ingram (Westbury) earned ECAC Metro Region Pitcher of the Week … The East Coast Conference announced that five Molloy College players were named to the All-Conference softball teams. Sophomore utility/pitcher Tracey Balinskas (Edison, NJ), junior second baseman Brenda Lee (Corona, Calif.) and senior outfielder Dayna White (East Islip) were selected to the First Team, while sophomore catcher Milan Botte (San Diego, Calif.) and senior shortstop Nicolette Sinagra (Brooklyn) were named to the Second Team…The Farmingdale State men’s lacrosse team had five players named All-Skyline in voting conducted among the Conference’s seven head coaches. Junior attack Philip Schaefer (Holbrook) was named First Team, while sophomore midfielder Ryan Corbett (Plainview), freshman midfielder Daniel Desimone (Plainview), junior midfielder Donovan Devaney (Northport) and freshman defender Steven Marxhausen (Levittown) received Second Team honors …Sophomore Christina Melian of the Stony Brook women’s track and field team finished third in the 5,000-meters in a personal-record time of 16:11.88, while senior Olivia Burne placed fourth in the 3,000-meters in a career-best 9:18.54 at the Penn Relays. Both times were ECAC qualifiers. Melian’s mark almost guarantees her a spot in the NCAA Regional Championships May 30-31 in Jacksonville, Fla. …
