St. John’s baseball outfielder Zach Lauricella, men’s golfer Ryan McCormick and track & field standout Rikka Lovely were named 2013-14 BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award winners, as announced by the league office… Stony Brook University student-athletes continue to prepare themselves for success after graduation by producing outstanding grades in the classroom as evidenced by the America East’s announcement of its 2013-14 winter/spring honor roll members. A total of 158 Seawolves student-athletes from winter and spring sports were placed on the America East Honor Roll for producing a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher during his/her season of competition. Overall, when factoring in the 70 student-athletes previously named to the fall honor roll, Stony Brook placed 228 athletes on the America East Honor Roll in 2013-14…

Spanning across seven teams were 12 student-athletes representing Adelphi University on the Northeast-10 Conference Spring Academic All-Conference Teams. The Academic All-Conference teams recognizes student-athletes that excelled in competition and in the classroom. Seniors Nick Watson and Aidan Bennardo from men’s lacrosse, sophomore Uladzislau Litvinchuk of men’s tennis, baseball senior Stephen Bove, senior Katie Andrews, junior Victoria Wink, and sophomore Jordan Catalano from softball, seniors Devan Crimi and Meg Brown along with junior Alexa Froccaro of women’s lacrosse, women’s tennis junior Joanna Haich, and senior Ryan Healy of men’s outdoor track and field earned their spots on the Academic All-Conference teams…

Hofstra University senior Cynthia Cheng and freshmen Andrea Neilson and Victoria Snak have been named to the All-America Scholar Team by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association it was announced recently. The trio are three of a total of 664 collegiate women’s golfers, spanning Division I, II and III to earn the distinction, which requires a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50.
