High and low, near and far, and hither and thither, entertainment of all sorts can be found at the Renaissance Faire. Gaiety and merriment abound around every corner. Though there are dozens of unique presentations, including stage shows and interactive events, here is a sampling of what you will find at the Ren Faire.

Maypole Peasant Dance

Enjoyable for adults and children, be part of the magic as shire residents dance the Maypole and sing traditional songs. Their enthusiasm is as infectious as the plague, but a lot more fun.

Ded Bob!

VentriloquistBRated PG-13, Bob and his faithful dummy, Sluj, perform a set of bawdy and profane corpse comedy. Audience members can expect to be pulled on stage to participate in the duo’s outrageous antics.

WashingWenchesWashingWenchesBWashing Well Wenches

Deloris and Talley earn a living by cleaning laundry, only until they can attract a wealthy man, preferably one intoxicated enough not to notice they’re missing some teeth, and a few marbles. This naughty and tempestuous twosome will make your sides ache at this one-of-a-kind show.

Sky Kings Falconry

IMG_2998cA highlight of the festival, Sky Kings Falconry presents an awe-inspiring birds-of-prey demonstration right above the audience. Witness the beauty of hawks, owls, falcons and vultures while learning about these majestic creatures. Brought to you by Wildlife Revealed, a nonprofit dedicated to the education and preservation of wildlife.

RottenTomatoesRotten Revenge

Best thicken your skin before playing this game of mockery and aspersions. Pelt oozing tomatoes at the insult-hurling knave. $5 for 5 throws; $10 for 12 throws. No whiney babies allowed.

 

Forest Walk

IMG_2801cWander through the Enchanted Forest and discover the faeries of Sterlingshire. No two faeries are alike. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch a glimpse of the Faerie Queen.

Combat Chess

Besides the joust, combat chess is the most action-packed show. The greatest combatants of the shire cross blades and trade blows on a giant chess board, all for Her Majesty’s entertainment. Huzzah!

Gypsy Geoff

GypsyGeoffComedian, magician and fire manipulator Geoff Marsh entertains the masses in his amazing one-man circus show.

Music

BandThere is no shortage of musicians in Sterlingshire. Look forward to a variety of musical genres including Celtic folk tunes, Irish harp, traditional English songs and ancient sea shanties.
