Shots Fired In Hempstead

A Hempstead man was arrested on May 9 after allegedly shooting two men.

Police say at 9 p.m. Hempstead Police Officers were responding to a call for shots fired on Birch Street when they observed a Nissan Altima leaving the scene.

When the officers attempted to stop the vehicle on Remsen Avenue, Ralphael Brown, 19, fled from the passenger side of the vehicle through the rear yard of a Remsen Avenue home, according to police. The officers pursued Brown and located him in the rear yard of a Roosevelt Street home where he was placed under arrest after a struggle.
