Robert Hosking Dies Four Days After Hit-and-Run in Melville

On June 24, Police are arrested a Floral Park man last night for a hit-and-run crash that killed an 85-year-old pedestrian, Robert Hosking in Melville on June 20.

At 8:50 p.m., a vehicle, described as green in color with damage to the passenger side front end, side view mirror and windshield was travelling south on Route 110 when it allegedly struck a pedestrian, Robert Hosking, 85, of Melville. The driver fled the scene at 8:50 p.m. and Hosking was transported via Melville Rescue to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow where he is being treated for internal injuries and multiple fractures.

After the investigation by vehicular crime unit detectives, Harvinder Hothi, 45, of 87-26 Little Neck Parkway was arrested on June 24 and arraigned at the First District Court in Central Islip. A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
