The Miracle Mile’s Best Kept Secret

With the on-the-go rush here, rush there, especially during the holidays, it is important to take time for yourself and rejuvenate and Julia Day Spa is the place to do it. Your skin is the largest organ that you have and it is exposed to the environment on a daily basis. It is extremely important to take care of it, after all, your face is your calling card.

Keeping your face clean and healthy is important and is enhanced with the help of an aesthetician. Alicja Rzepoluch, the licensed skin aesthetician at Julia Day Spa says, ”Facials refresh your skins cells and make your skin glow.” She suggests to treat your skin with regular facials to enhance your appearance and protecting your overall health.
By taking good care of your skin you improve your overall health, not just your appearance. As we age, the skin begins to show wear through sagging, spotting and wrinkles. Skin’s structure loses collagen. Facials are a proven way of preventing signs of aging and enhancing elasticity and tone of your skin without resorting to surgery. The facials also help mitigate environmental damage, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and plump and firm skin. The aestheticians at Julia Day Spa are all licensed skin care professionals who specialize in improving the condition of skin.

The hydra facial is wonderful way to start. The facial uses a machine which cleans your pores, exfoliates and extracts dead skin cells and hydrates new skin cells resulting in clearer more beautiful skin. The mechanism feels as though wet kisses are being applied all over your face. The facial takes a half hour and your skin feels alive and radiant without any redness. Having very delicate, fair skin, I was concerned about the use of any acid on my skin, but found that the results was non-invasive and didn’t irritate my sensitive skin—the result was my skin felt alive and brand new.

Under the meticulous eye of owner Natasha Kaplan, the clientele of Julia Day Spa are treated like royalty. The relaxing atmosphere encompasses you as you enter the threshold like going to a calm retreat. The spa is available only by appointment, no walk-ins are accepted. Many of the aestheticians who were formerly from the Estée Lauder Spa can be found at Julia Day Spa.

The salon also provides massage, waxing and manicure and pedicure along with their attentive service. Keith Greco’s magic hands are available by appointment for a massage from Tuesday’s through Saturday. My favorite is the hot lava rock massage which is very popular.

Maria Kaskaris the “brow guru”

Maria Laskaris is the resident eyebrow guru. She can shape and train the most unruly eyebrows. Men and women flock to her to manage and train their unruly brows. But the most delightful treat I found at the spa is taking care of your feet. Your feet are extremely important to your being and with a Spa Signature Pedicure, you can pamper yourself literally to your toes. This exquisite delight for your feet removes calluses and makes your feet feel silky smooth without any cutting. The calluses are gently polished off with a special machine making your heels pristine perfect. Should you have cracked heels, broken skin or any sort of foot ailment, their gentle touch will heal skin. All the products used at spa are organic and are the finest on the market and produce phenomenal results.

Julia Day Spa is at 1532 Northern Blvd., Manhasset’s Miracle Mile. For an appointment call 516-869-5900. Visit www.juliadayspa.com for details. Access is in the rear of the building.
