PSEG Contractor Charged With Copper Theft

Michael CappielloA Hicksville man working as an independent contractor for PSEG was arrested for allegedly stealing copper wire from the company.


Police say 48-year-old Michael Cappiello was observed by an employee placing four bundles of copper wire into the rear of his pickup truck and left the property on April 14.

Cappiello surrendered to detectives at the Second Precinct on May 1. The property was never recovered.

Cappiello was charged with grand larceny.
