Police Investigating Bank Robbery in Franklin Square

Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred at 3:15 a.m. on Friday, May 30 in Franklin Square.

According to police, a black male subject approached a 23 year-old male clerk working at CVS at 640 Franklin Avenue and demanded the clerk open the cash register. The clerk complied and the unknown subject removed an undetermined amount of US currency. After taking the cash, the subject fled on foot in an unknown direction with the proceeds. The subject, described as five feet, eight inches tall, 190 lbs, and 20-30 years-old, was wearing a white t-shirt, dark sweat pants, white socks and black sneakers.

There were no customers in the CVS and only one employee and no injuries were reported. Detectives request that anyone with information on this case call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
