The Action Funds of Planned Parenthood of Nassau County (PPNCAF) and Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic (PPHPAF) announced today that on Monday, Sept. 26, they will join together at the 2016 Presidential Debate at Hofstra University to rally in support of longtime champion of women’s health and reproductive rights, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
PPNCAF, PPHPAF and fellow reproductive rights advocates and supporters from around the state will march from the PPNCAF office at 750 Fulton Ave., Hempstead, to the public space outside the presidential debate to rally in support of reproductive rights and freedom.
“Women’s health care is under attack across the country, and especially in this year’s presidential election. We are determined to keep Planned Parenthood’s doors open for the millions of people who depend on its essential services every year,” said JoAnn Smith, President & CEO of PPNCAF. “The dangerous agenda of Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump and Vice Presidential Candidate Mike Pence will block patients from accessing the essential reproductive health care they need and deserve and we are not going to let that happen.”
As candidates Trump and Pence have continually attacked reproductive rights and health care. PPNCAF and PPHPAF have proudly endorsed candidate Hillary Clinton for President of the United States. A fierce and proven champion for women and families, she has and will work tirelessly to protect and expand access to reproductive health care across the county and world.
PPHPAF President and CEO Reina Schiffrin stated, “We are proud to stand with Hillary Clinton because she knows our country cannot move forward if women are left behind. She has spent her life fighting to ensure that no one gets left behind—that everyone has the opportunity to succeed and move forward together.”
