Pedestrian Struck, Seriously Injured In Wantagh Crash


The Seventh Squad is investigating a Serious Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 10:18 a.m.

According to detectives, a 72-year-old male was driving a 2013 Hyundai south on Seaman’s Neck Road and struck an 85-year-old male pedestrian that was crossing from east to west.

The pedestrian suffered compound fractures to both legs and severe head trauma. He was transported in a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local area hospital for treatment. There is no apparent criminality at this time. The vehicle was impounded for a brake and safety check. The Investigation is ongoing.
