Islandia’s Pal-O-Mine Equestrian (www.pal-o-mine.org), a private, nonprofit organization providing a comprehensive therapeutic equine program using horses to facilitate growth, learning and healing for children and adults with disabilities, has been named among the 20 2015 finalists in the Long Island Imagine Awards program which recognizes innovation and leadership in the nonprofit sector. The program was created by the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm of Bohemia’s Cerini & Associates, LLP (www.ceriniandassociates.com). The finalists will be announced at an awards program to be held on May 5, at Woodbury’s Crest Hollow Country Club. Serving as the Platinum Sponsors for the event are: Cerini & Associates, LLP, Empire National Bank, Bank of America and U.S. Trust.
There are five categories in which winners will be announced. They are the Cerlini & Associates Social Impact Award, the Empire National Bank Innovation Award, The Leadership Award, The Claire Friedlander Family Foundation Rising Star Award, and the Bank of America/U.S. Trust Social Entrepreneurism Award. Pal-O-Mine is a finalist for the Rising Star Award.
