This year, firefighters and neighbors will once again make their trips to visit the nation’s wounded warriors in the first week of December. Trucks will depart on Wednesday, Dec. 2. NCFF-OWW makes these trips each year to express our gratitude to recovering warriors for the sacrifices they and their families have made during the war on terror.
NCFF-OWW is a separate, nonprofit charity and is not affiliated with Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) or any other organization. NCFF-OWW is completely separate and 100 percent volunteer-operated.
These expressions of gratitude would not be possible without your continued support. This year’s collections will be held at Holy Spirit Church, in the basement of the school building on South 6th St. in New Hyde Park.
Collection dates are:
Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This year, in addition to monetary donations we will be collecting all new clothing items, basketball shorts, athletic sleeveless shirts, bicycle gloves, white socks, fire department T-shirts, New York sports team apparel, toys for ages 3-10, as well as diapers and baby care items for infants.
