Police reported the details of the arrest of a Hempstead resident man for a
burglary that occurred at 9:37 a.m. on June 10, in North Bellmore.
According to detectives, suspect Carlos Parada-Hernandez, 45, of 50 Jackson
Avenue, was observed by an off-duty detective lieutenant who alleged that he was acting suspiciously. When the suspect attempted to gain entry to a Metropolitan Avenue home through the side door, the detective lieutenant approached him, identified himself, and questioned Parada=Hernandez. Further investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of alleged burglar tools and the screen doors of the residence were found to have been pried open. The detective lieutenant placed Parada-Hernandez under arrest without incident.
Parada-Hernandez was charged with 2nd degree burglary and possession of burglar tools. He was arraigned on June 12 at First District Court in Hempstead.
