Nursing Home Employee Arrested for Stealing from Patient

Suffolk County Police arrested an employee of a West Babylon nursing home for allegedly stealing a necklace from a patient on July 11.

The family of a dementia patient at Berkshire Nursing Rehabilitation Center, located at 10 Berkshire Road, contacted police on June 25, after a gold necklace and charm worn by the patient went missing.

Detectives conducted an investigation and arrested Boyonce King, a certified nursing assistant who has worked at the facility since 2010. According to detectives, it was determined that King had awned the items for cash.

King, 29, of 15 Levey Boulevard, Wyandanch, was charged with petit larceny. She was arraigned on July 11 at First District Court in Central Islip. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the first precinct crime section at 631-854-8130.
