NICE Bus To Begin Temporary Service Reduction

Nassau Inter-County Express/NICE Bus will begin a schedule change for an interim period beginning Sunday, April 5. The change will remain in place until further notice.

  • Weekday service will operate on a Saturday schedule or amended Saturday schedule.
  • Weekday-only routes will operate on their regular weekday schedule or amended weekday schedule.
  • Saturday and Sunday schedules will remain unchanged.
  • Able-Ride paratransit services will remain unchanged.

The temporary schedule reflects decreased ridership levels while ensuring vital transportation continues for essential workers in healthcare, retail and other services.

The interim schedule is available on the NICE Bus website at The schedule and real-time arrival information will appear April 5 on the “NICE GoMobile” app available for free download on iOS and Android phones.

As a reminder, NICE Bus is committed to the health, safety, and wellbeing of riders and employees. NICE Bus remains in constant contact with Nassau County and New York State to follow their guidelines in response to health alerts. Ongoing cleaning procedures include disinfecting all high-touch surfaces every 12 hours. These surfaces include poles, handrails, seats, benches, grab bars, and the driver’s cockpit area. At the Rosa Parks-Hempstead Transit Center, touchless hand sanitizers are available and surfaces are cleaned multiple times a day.

Last week, NICE Bus implemented new procedures to provide social distancing on all fixed-route buses. Passengers use the rear doors to board and exit buses, the front section of the buses are blocked by safety tape, and passengers are encouraged to allow several feet between each other. Fare collection remains suspended until further notice.
