The Town of Oyster Bay Animal Shelter, located at 150 Miller Pl. in Syosset, has the following animals available for adoption. To learn more, call 516-677-5784 or visit oysterbaytown.com/departments/environmental-resources/animal-shelter.

Nelson #170678:

My name is Nelson. I am a 9-year-old Jack Russell Terrier Mix that was surrendered to the shelter because my owner was unable to take care of me anymore. I am up to date on all of my vaccines. I would do best in a home with older children. I was an only pet so if you are thinking of coming to adopt me and making me a part of your family and you have another dog, the shelter requires a meet and greet. I’m hoping that someone might read this and be looking for a small dog just like me. Hope to see you soon!

Laney #170110:

Hi everyone, it is me Laney. I am still available for adoption at the shelter. I have been here since March. It has been a long nine months of waiting. I know that I am loved by the staff here, but we all know that there is no place like a home of your own. I am a 2-3 year old female pit bull that would love for you to come and meet me. I was found as a stray but lets face it, I belonged to someone, somewhere, once in my life. I would love to be safe and loved in a home of my own.

Dolly #170622:

Hello everyone, my name is Dolly. I was surrendered to the shelter due to the fact my owners said they could no longer care for me. I am a beautiful, loving, 13-year-old calico female that has lived in a home with love and affection all my life and I am hoping that someone will come to the shelter and want me to be a part of their life. I know all the reservations of adopting an older pet, but there are many more good things about us seniors. We have so much love to give and are so thankful a second chance to be in a home with people who will love us. Maybe being 13 will be lucky for me. I am wishing on every star that I can be home for Christmas. Love Dolly.

Bella #170642:

My name is Bella, and I have been surrendered to the shelter by my owners with my littermate sister Cleo, when our owners became ill and couldn’t care for us anymore. I am 13 years old. I am a big girl who weighs 9 pounds. I realize that there are not to many people that are looking to adopt a 13-year-old cat. It is going to be a tough road for both me and my sister. As each day goes by we just hang onto the hope that a very special person is going to want a girl like me and hopefully for my sister too. I am hoping that the magic of the holiday season shines on me as I would love to be adopted and show just how much love and affection I have to give.

Cleo #170643:

This is the season of love and joy. My name is Cleo and I am hoping for just that. I am 13 years old and was surrendered to the shelter with my liitermate  sister Bella as our owners became ill and could not care for us any longer. I know how tough it is to get adopted at this age, but I am hoping each day that the very special person will walk into the shelter and fall in love with me. I am a domestic short haired, grey, female that weighs 9 pounds. I have so much love and affection to give and if I can just get the chance to show someone they will be glad they adopted me. Maybe I am an oldie, but I am definitely a goodie. Please share my story and help me to find a home. A senior cat makes such an awesome companion

Patches #170553:

Patches was surrendered to the shelter in early October as his owners were moving. Patches is a 2-year-old that is very lovable and affectionate. He would do best as an only pet, and with older children. Patches would be a wonderful companion to someone who is looking for a charming young man whose life was turned upside down. Black cats are the hardest to adopt but this guy is a gem who is just waiting to found. Patches is up to date on all his vaccines, neutered and microchipped. All he is waiting for is a special someone to love him forever!
