Nassau County Police would like to inform residents that the main telephone number of the Nassau County Department of Health (516-227-9697) has be ‘spoofed.’ Calls are going out to the public which reflect the DOH’s main information and referral number, but the DOH is not making these calls.

The Nassau County Department of Health has been made aware that these illicit callers are seeking personal information and identification. NCDOH does not call residents asking for this type of information.

Most residents have told investigators that the callers claim to be representatives from health insurance companies.

Be aware of these ongoing scams. If you believe you may have been a victim of any of these scams, call 911 immediately.

Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the individual(s) responsible are asked to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477). All calls remain anonymous.
