The newly renovated and historic Argyle Theatre on Main Street in the Village of Babylon, opens this month with the musical Guys and Dolls, the first show in a full roster of plays, musicals, concerts and other performing arts. The theatre will offer six annual main stage productions featuring performers from Actors Equity Association, the union for professional stage actors.
Guys and Dolls takes place in the 1940’s hustle-and-bustle setting of New York City’s Times Square during the Great Depression. It revolves around two big-city gamblers and the women who dare to love them.
The talented cast includes Spencer Plachy, Todd Buonopane, Elizabeth Broadhurst,
Stephen Valenti, Melissa Maricich and Robert Anthony Jones.
Witty and humorous, the Tony award-winning Guys and Dolls pulses with wit, humor, plot twists and fabulous singing and dancing.
Composer and lyricist Frank Loesser’s award-winning score includes favorites like “Luck Be a Lady,” “Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat” and “I’ve Never Been in Love Before.”
See Guys and Dolls through June 17 at The Argyle Theatre, 34 West Main St., Babylon, New York 11702. For tickets and more, visit argyletheatre.com.
