Meet The Cast Of Flashdance At Patchogue Theatre

Long Island native Julia Macchio stars in Flashdance the Musical at Patchogue Theatre as Alex, an 18-year-old dancer who dreams of going to the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy. When a romance complicates her ambitions, she harnesses it to drive her dream of becoming a professional dancer.

The 1983 romance-drama starring Jennifer Beals and Michael Nouri was adapted to the stage in 2008. Though the musical was well-received, it never made it to Broadway.

Julia Macchio is the daughter of Ralph Macchio, known best for his role in The Karate Kid. The cast also includes Anthony Crouchelli, Amanda Tong, LaQuet Sharnell Pringle, Danielle Marie Gonzalez, Steve Greenstein, Chris Collins-Pisano, Diane J. Findlay. View the video above for interviews with the cast, as well as dance captain Vincent Ortega.

Flashdance runs through Sept. 15. For tickets visit or call 631-207-1313.

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts is located at 71 E Main St., Patchogue, NY 11772.
