Man Found Dead In Syosset-Woodbury Park Pool

Update: The man has been identified as Jonathan Sobel of Woodbury.

Police are investigating what happened to a man who was found dead in the main pool at Syosset-Woodbury Park in Woodbury on July 27.

Police say at 1:25 p.m., a 44-year-old man was seen swimming in the pool and was found unresponsive and floating face down a short time later. 

Lifeguards on duty pulled the victim from the pool and performed CPR. The man was then transported to Syosset Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The identification of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
