Police report the arrest of a Bohemia man who threw an incendiary device out of a moving vehicle in Lake Grove on June 30.
Police officers responded to a home in Lake Grove after a man threw a bottle full of flammable liquid out of a car at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Sunday. The bottle landed in the street and caught on fire. A local resident put out the fire with a water hose. Witness provided police with a description of the vehicle the subject was driving. Approximately forty minutes later, a vehicle matching the description was located at the Gulf gas station, located at 5106 Expressway Drive South, Holbrook.
Anthony Persico, 25, of Walnut Avenue, Bohemia, was allegedly identified as the man that threw the bottle out of the car window. Arson Squad detectives charged Persico with 2nd degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on June 30.
