MAMAS Summer Countdown Begins Feb. 12 At NYSCI

On Sunday Feb. 12, the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) in Queens, NY will proudly host The 2017 MAMAS Summer Countdown for local parents and children. This event offers an abundance of opportunities for parents to learn about great possibilities for summer plans and enjoy a fun day with the family.

More than 2,000 attendees visited the MAMAS Summer Countdown in 2016 to learn about their summer options and enjoy a day out with their children. The 2017 MAMAS Summer Countdown is expecting an even larger turn-out and hopes to further spread information and resources to locals.

“The primary mission of the MAMAS Summer Countdown is to empower parents to make informed decisions for their children by giving them easy access to some of the best local services, entertainment, activities, specialists, and camps currently available to them,” said Randi Madrid cofounder of the MAMAS Network. “It is also going to be a super fun day for the whole family.”

The event will include the Muyu Market Pop-Up Shop featuring businesses and products created by local children. At Muyu Market, your child will experience the thrill of taking their product to market, the fun of sharing their ideas, and the buzz of learning business skills that will serve them throughout school and life.

While having fun selling products children can learn about basic business practices such as: designing products, inventory, pricing, branding, marketing, sales, and customer service. The Muyu means seed in Quechua—the language of the Inca. Mayu helps provide a strong foundation of entrepreneurial traits in children by allowing them the opportunity to sell in a live market environment. At Muyu, kids will gain knowledge, self-confidence, and, of course, some extra income.
