Hersheypark brings fall fun to the sweetest place on Earth

Celebrate all things fall in Hershey with family-friendly happenings and themed events this October into early November. The Halloween fun takes place Fridays through Sundays from Oct. 19 through 28 and Nov. 2 through 4. A festive lineup of activities includes everything from rides and attractions, relaxation, and of course, chocolate and candy.

“Hersheypark in the Dark is a family friendly Halloween event unlike any other,” said a Hershey representative. “You simply have to be in Hershey for Halloween.”

Below is a fun list of activities and attractions to get you in the Halloween spirit.

Hersheypark In The Dark

Hersheypark In The Dark Halloween attraction features more than 55 rides and attractions and Halloween-themed live entertainment for just $39.95. Guests will enjoy 13 roller coasters and in addition, the park will turn off the lights on its three wooden roller coasters during the last hour of each operating evening and the indoor Laff Trakk coaster will be dark throughout park operation.

It’s not Halloween without the candy and Hershey will have 13 candy locations in Hershey’s Trick-or-Treat Trail, including Treatville trick-or-treat trail in Hersheypark and ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park, and Hershey Hollow in Hershey’s Chocolate World Attraction. Children ages 12 and younger are encouraged to come in costume for free treat bags and candy at each stop throughout this whimsical Halloween village. And let’s not forget the food. Festive fall-themed food and beverages, such as pumpkin funnel cakes, pumpkin roll ice cream sandwiches, hot apple cider, s’mores and Pumpkin King Size Shakes will also be available.

Also, new this year, the Character Glow Party will be offered daily through Hersheypark In The Dark. Live entertainment includes “Screaming Mummies,” a band of misfit mummies performing throwback Halloween tunes. Hershey’s Product Characters will be dressed in their Halloween costumes as well.

Don’t miss out on sampling the sweet and savory flavors from Hershey’s Kitchens this fall. Flavors of Fall Journey is available Oct. 20-21, 27-28, Nov. 3-4, on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays 12 to 8 p.m.

Enter Hershey Hallow to experience Hershey’s Trick-or-Treat Adventure from Oct. 19-21, 26-28 and Nov. 2-4, Fridays from 5 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 9 p.m.

Dress up and enter Hershey Hallow for spook-tacular entertainment with the Hershey’s Characters and more ghostly activities on Oct. 21, 27 and Nov. 3 from 5 to 10 p.m.

The Hershey Story Museum

Visitors can learn about the history of chocolate at The Hershey Story, the Museum on Chocolate Avenue by taking Halloween-themed classes in the Chocolate Lab, offered daily in October and include Chocolate Cobweb Creations and Build a Batty Bar. New this season is Spooky Candy Bark, a class where participants create chocolate bark using milk chocolate and Halloween candy. Class will be held on Saturdays, Oct. 13, 20 and 27, only.

You can also have fun at the Chocolate Monster Mischief class, held on Saturdays (Oct. 13, 20 and 27). Children who visit the Museum Experience at The Hershey Story can create their very own monster pop using a Hershey’s milk chocolate bar, decorative icing and edible candy eyes, along with a vintage Hershey’s mask to assemble.

Hershey Gardens

Hershey Gardens lights up the night with more than 150 carved illuminated pumpkins during the Pumpkin Glow at Hershey Gardens. Plus, discover a unique collection of live spiders and insects on display, watch live pumpkin-carving and kids ages 12 and younger are invited to bring a flashlight, come in costume and trick-or-treat throughout the Gardens. Runs Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27.
