If you haven’t seen any movies with William H. Macy, then shame on you. The actor shines in dark, macabre roles, but is a riot on screen when he plays the light-hearted funny man. Here’s the actor’s take on his most noteworthy roles.

In regards to his upcoming projects, Macy is moving into directing. In 2014, he directed Rudderless, (Billy Crudup and Anton Yelchin), and is working on his second film, The Layover (Kate Upton and Alexandra Daddario).

“It’s a chick flick. It’s comedy and it’s pretty funny,” said Macy of the film. “God willing, in March, I’m starting a film called Crystal in Georgia. It’s a farce, another comedy.”

Fargo (1996) It’s the film that Macy is best known for, which catapulted him into super stardom and earned him an Academy Award nomination. “I did a scene with Steve Reevis, who played Shep Proudfoot,” said Macy. “He’s an amazing actor to watch.”

Wild Hogs (2007) Macy takes on the character of a biker wannabe with John Travolta, Tim Allen and Martin Lawrence. “Tim Allen is trying to get Wild Hogs back on the road, I can’t wait for that,” said Macy.

Room (2015) The actor plays “Grandpa” in Room, a film about a woman and her 5-year-old son who were held captive for five years and finally gain their freedom. “The story is breathtaking and I love the way Lenny [Abrahamson] shot it,” said Macy.
