Dix Hills resident and Art League of Long Island Instructor, Nanette Fluhr was selected to represent outstanding female artists painting at the International level. On March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day, the MEAM Museum in Barcelona houses the opening of the exhibition ‘Painting Today, International Women’s Day’ to claim the importance of women in the world of art and contemporary culture. The exhibition includes 70 works by more than 40 women artists of diverse origins, coming from the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, South America and Central America.
This is the second year in a row that the museum organizes an exhibition to highlight the role of women in art, also coinciding with International Women’s Day. Nanette Fluhr’s “Self Portrait” is included in this stunning exhibition curated by Didi Menendez of PoetsArtists.
