Local Band Has Hart And Soul

bandClose to 70 people went to the public library in Westbury in July for a free performance from Levittown’s own Hart & Soul Band.

Founded in 2012, Hart & Soul is a five-piece rock group that has been performing shows throughout the tri-state region for the past two years, playing top songs from the 60s to the more modern hits of today.

Led by frontwoman Brandy Hart, the band is comprised entirely of accomplished musicians, each of whom has been in the business for over 20 years.

Hart & Soul features John Jorgensen on guitar, Nick Rutigliano on drums, Mike Gellman on bass and, for this particular performance, Freddie Prinze on keyboards.

For their most recent performance, Hart & Soul covered a wide range of classic rock songs, including music from the Beatles, the Drifters, Janis Joplin and Van Morrison; Motown and R&B hits from musicians like Donna Summer; to some of todays Top 40 hits by Cee Lo Green, Carrie Underwood and Adele.

Audience members clapped their hands, tapped their fee and sang along to the music, while others showed off their dance moves. A lucky few would even join the band for their performance of the 90s dance hit “Get On Your Feet,” by Gloria Estefan.

“What a treat this was,” said audience member Eldorado McNair. “With such phenomenal singing and great songs, how could you not like it?”

In case you missed it, be sure to catch Hart & Soul’s next performance on Aug. 23, from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. at Eleanor’s Lounge, 4103 Sunrise Highway in Bohemia.
