LI Pride Parade & Festival This Weekend

The 2014 Long Island Pride Parade on Saturday, June 14, 2014 will begin at 12:00 p.m., leading to Heckscher Park for PrideFest, a day-long music and entertainment festival.

Edie Windsor will be the parade’s Grand Marshal. Windsor has been a strong advocate for the rights of the GLBT community through her inspirational fight in single-handedly taking down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

This year’s event is bringing top-notch performances from 80s/90s pop icon Taylor Dayne (“Tell It To My Heart”), Kristine W. (“I’ll Be Your Light”), Prince Poppycock (finalist on “America’s Got Talent”), and Joe Murena (“American Idol” Season 4 Contestant) as well as local performers.
