IKEA Home Tour 2014

Have a home design challenge that you have not been able to tackle? Ever walked through an IKEA store, looked at the room settings and wished IKEA could make your space look like that? With the IKEA Home Tour, this wish is coming true for homeowners in select cities. IKEA hand-picked a group of five experts from IKEA stores around the country to form the IKEA Home Tour Squad. Currently the Squad is ‘on the road,’ traveling from city to city to work with homeowners on real-life makeover projects, big and small, and helping transform spaces (and lives!) with smart products and solutions from IKEA. For example, so far the Squad has:

Helped a family in the Charlotte, NC area transform their L-shaped living room into a multi-functional space – adding a homework station for the kids and even a dining room area  (click HERE to see the video)

Helped a busy crafter in the Atlanta area organize her work space using unique storage solutions – like glass jars and a picture rack – to get the crafting supplies in order, while also keeping them handy/accessible/easy to find (click HERE to see the video)

While on the road, the Squad is documenting and sharing their experiences to provide ideas and inspiration to others with content including makeover videos (which include design tips and product suggestions) that can be viewed anytime on the IKEA Home Tour YouTube page (www.ikea-usa.com/hometour). You can also check out the IKEA Home Tour board on Pinterest or follow the Squad as they share live updates from the tour via Twitter (@DesignbyIKEA) and Instagram (@IKEAUSA) with the hashtag #IKEAHomeTour.

HOW TO APPLY: The IKEA Home Tour Squad will be in the New York City area Aug. 18 – Sept. 3. To apply for the chance to receive a makeover during this time, homeowners need to submit a video that provides the details of their design challenge and how IKEA can help improve their life at home at www.ikea-usa.com/hometour. The video submission deadline is June 25.
