Detectives report an arrest for a robbery that occurred in Westbury at 1:20 p.m. on June 25.
On June 25, Vanessa Gonzalez, 30, of 2188 Creston Avenue, Bronx and Stephen Corbett, 31, of 147-36 229th Street, Springfield Gardens, entered Best Buy at 1100 Old Country Road and allegedly used false identification to make purchases. After spending $3709.51 on a television, computer and cables using a female victim’s social security number and identity to open a credit line. The store manager reviewed the purchases and felt that the ID presented might not be valid and called police.
Gonzalez and Corbett are being harged with 3rd degree grand larceny and 1st degree identity theft. Gonzalez is also being charged with possession of a forged instrument in the 2nd degree. Both defendants were arraigned on June 26 in First District Court in Hempstead.
