These pets can be adopted at the North Hempstead Animal Shelter, 75 Marino Ave., Port Washington. The phone number is 516-767-4615. Adopt Jessie or Leia today.

Jessie

Jessie may be shy at first, but give her a few treats and you’ll win her heart. She already knows all of her basic commands, enjoys long walks with her handlers and the company of canines. She would do best in an adult home that will give her all the comfort and assurance she needs.

Leia

Leia came to the town’s animal shelter as a stray near the holidays. On Christmas Eve she gave birth to 11 healthy puppies. Her puppies have been adopted and now it’s her turn. Leia is a sweet and loving dog that happily greets everyone she meets. She would make the perfect addition to just about any home.
