Christmas decorations at Old Westbury Gardens

Celebrate the holidays at the Sands Point Preserve Conservancy, where Christmas magic and winter fun abound. Enjoy guided tours of the Vanderbilt mansion and see a Christmas wonderland display from room to room. A drive through light-show is always a treat for families and children at Smith Point County Park.

Holiday Celebration 2016 at Old Westbury Gardens

Runs through Dec. 18

Period rooms are beautifully and exquisitely decorated by our Horticulture staff with Christmas trees, wreaths, mantelpiece arrangements, topiaries, and plants. Antique clothing and toys from our Westbury House collection will be on display. Bring the children to create crafts and share their holiday wishes with Santa. Visit our Gift Shop for unique, hard-to-find presents. Enjoy hot cider and cookies on our West Porch.

Holiday Light Show at Smith Point County Park

Runs through Dec. 23

Now in its 13th dazzling year, Long Island’s favorite drive-through light show is better than ever! More lights, more displays and more festive family fun! They are the only Light Show where all proceeds go to direct services for children.

Vanderbilt Mansion Tours

Guided Tours run through Dec. 30

Each year, designers, decorators and garden clubs decorate the Vanderbilt Mansion for the holidays. Their work makes the grand house even more enchanting. For a few evenings after Christmas, the Mansion is open for the highly popular Twilight Tours, the only time of the year visitors can see the Vanderbilt family’s private living quarters at night.

Holiday Wishes from Mary Martin and Dinah Shore High-Tea Luncheon

Runs through Jan. 11

Don’t miss this celebration of Hollywood’s stage and film actresses Mary Martin and Dinah Shore at The Educational & Cultural Center in Stony Brook. Enjoy musical highlights from their memorable careers. High-tea luncheon performances take place in a beautifully decorated seasonal setting and feature delightful finger sandwiches and scrumptious desserts catered by Crazy Beans.
