Where to find the best deals for holiday meals
Perhaps the most exciting part of the upcoming holiday season is the feasting that will ensue. Though family and friends look forward to spending time together over a homemade meal, cooking can sometimes prove to be a daunting task, requiring endless hours of preparation and the eventual cleanup. To ease the process, certain local restaurants are offering special holiday deals such as fixed price or buffet options.
It’s an ideal way to enjoy a memorable holiday meal surrounded by loved ones with no effort or frustration in the kitchen.
Eisenhower Park, East Meadow
The event hall and popular dining destination will be offering a special Christmas dinner two days before the holiday itself on Friday, Dec. 23, beginning at 6 p.m. No specific menu has been created yet, but according to The Carltun kitchen staff, it is likely to be a three-course fixed price meal featuring choices of appetizers, a main entree and dessert. Prices will be $55 per adult and $25 per child.
The Garden City Hotel
45 Seventh St., Garden City
For those who enjoy a satisfying morning meal over dinner, the Polo Steak House and Lounge, part of the Garden City Hotel, will be hosting a Christmas Buffet Brunch. Prices will be $99 per adult, $49.50 per child age 4 to 12 and free for children 3 years old and under.
If Christmas Day is too busy to squeeze in a brunching session, the Polo Steak House will also be holding a Breakfast With Santa event on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 8 to 11 a.m., where kids can meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus while the whole family enjoys their meal. Every child will receive a special present and a picture with Santa. No menus have been revealed just yet, so be sure to check with the restaurant as the dates near.
117 N. New York Ave., Huntington
This classic American-style restaurant and bar won’t have any fixed price menu, but will be offering diners a special à la carte menu on Christmas Day. This menu will be similar to the style of cuisine on the regular menus, but will feature some specialty appetizers, entrees and desserts. Though the menu has not been finalized, it is likely that these Christmas dishes will align with the values of the restaurant, aiming to serve “classic favorites with modern twists.”
City Cellar Wine Bar
1080 Corporate Dr., Westbury
This new American eatery, which specializes in brick-oven pizzas, steaks and seafood, and has a vast wine selection, will be closed on Christmas Day, but will be featuring a special menu on Christmas Eve. The Christmas Eve menu, which has not yet been revealed, will be an optional fixed price menu aside from the normal dinner options available on a daily basis. The large open space, high ceilings, and private booth-style seating at this popular local hot spot make it a perfect holiday destination for families big and small.
The Milleridge Inn
585 N. Broadway, Jericho
In an effort to restore The Milleridge Inn’s once noteworthy reputation as a community center of gathering and entertainment, the famed catering hall and restaurant will be hosting “An Olde Fashioned Breakfast with Santa” over the course of two weekends.
