A Hempstead man was arrested on July 18 for allegedly murdering a man with a machete on July 18, according to police.
Police say at 5:25 p.m. David Sadler, 45, while in front of 79 Albermarle Ave., became involved in a verbal altercation with Terrance Grier, 17, of Hempstead, and struck him in the neck with a machete.
Sadler fled the scene, according to police, and was located a short time later by Hempstead Police on Henry St., where he was placed under arrest.
Nassau County Police Ambulance transported Grier to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a staff physician at 6:08 p.m.
Sadler is being charged with Murder 2nd Degree.
